On the 3rd of May 5th and 6th class took part in the Garda Safe Cycling Programme. Two Garda came in to the school after lunch ato teach us about bicycle safety. Their names were Tony and Owen (who was a local guard from Castleconnell Garda Station). First they showed the class a powerpoint explaining the basics of a bike including the different parts. After that we went outside to do different obstacles. These included trying to get our bikes around tight turns and maneuvering our bikes between cones. It was really fun and we learnt a lot. In a couple of weeks we will undertake a test where another Guard will come in to test us on what we have learnt so far with the hope of going on a cycle in UL before the end of the year.
